Interpreter booking form

TIS Online now available

We recently launched our newest service, TIS Online, which makes it easy to request and manage all of your on-site interpreter bookings online.

TIS Online allows us to secure an interpreter for your request in the shortest possible time frame. All agencies registered with a TIS National account are automatically registered to use TIS Online.

Find out more about TIS Online or visit the TIS Online login page to get started.

Using the interpreter booking form

You can use the below form to pre-book a phone or on-site (face-to-face) interpreter.

Booking requests will only be accepted up to three months in advance. Minimum booking times are
30 minutes for a pre-booked phone interpreter or 90 minutes for an on-site interpreter.

TIS National will send a confirmation to your nominated email address when this request is received and another confirmation (including your job number) when an interpreter has been allocated to your booking.

This booking may incur charges. Please view our interpreting service charges and cancellation policy before submitting a booking request. You can also estimate the cost of your booking using our cost calculator.

Interpreter accreditation

There are three main levels of interpreter accreditation through the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI):

Professionally accredited (level 3 and above): Suitable for specialisations such as health, legal and formal proceedings.

Para-professionally accredited (level 2): Suitable for general conversations and interpretation of non-specialist dialogues.

Not accredited (Nil accredited or NAATI recognised): Nil accredited interpreters undergo TIS National interview and reference checking processes to ensure their work is of a high standard. For languages where accreditation is not available you may be allocated a nil-accredited or NAATI recognised interpreter.

TIS National allocates the highest accredited interpreter available. If TIS National cannot allocate a NAATI Professionally Accredited interpreter (level 3), would you like us to allocate a lower (or nil) accredited interpreter? More information TIS National will always allocate the highest accredited interpreter available in the language requested. If you select no, we will try and allocate a professional interpreter but if no interpreter is available, the request will be cancelled and you will need to source an interpreter through another channel (for example, using the immediate phone interpreting service).
