When using a phone or on-site interpreter would not be suitable, TIS National can facilitate a video remote interpreting session on your chose platform. Video remote interpreting services can offered to interpreters in any location in Australia.
Video remote assignments can support:
- complex or highly sensitive subject matter
- briefing the interpreter about any critical information before connecting the non-English speaker.
- a higher success rate of securing a rare language interpreter or a language with limited availability. This is a result of the request being offered to the highest credentialed interpreter available nationwide.
- assignments located at facilities such as correctional centres where physical access is restricted
Agencies are able to use the video conferencing platform of their choice provided it can generate a clickable link that can be copied and pasted into the TIS Online booking form. For privacy reasons, TIS National is unable to provide interpreter email addresses for links to be sent to.
