With current COVID-19 restrictions in place for most Australian states and territories, please consider the expert public health advice relevant to your state or territory by visiting the Australian Government Department of Health website.

Due to the current delays in receiving COVID-19 PCR test results and the constrained supply of COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) testing kits, please consider using phone and video interpreting services if your agency requires an interpreter to pre-test for COVID-19 prior to attending an on-site job.

TIS National booking requirements: 48 hour minimum notice time for pre-booked telephone requests, from 27 September 2021

As of 27 September 2021, agency clients are required to provide 48 hours’ minimum notice in order for TIS National to service pre-booked telephone requests.

The following guidelines apply for all pre-booked telephone requests:

  • Submit pre-booked phone requests at least 48 hours prior to the time and date you require the interpreter

Pharmacy Free Interpreting Service non-Medicare COVID-19 vaccinations

To support the Australian Government’s objective to encourage non-English speaking cohorts in the Australian community to be vaccinated against COVID-19, TIS National has temporarily extended the Free Interpreting Service to now cover non-Medicare patients receiving their COVID-19 vaccine.read more
