AUSIT Excellence Awards 2013

10 September 2013

Nominate now for the AUSIT Excellence Awards - nominations close Wednesday 25 September 2013

Time is running out to nominate for the Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators (AUSIT) Excellence Awards. The AUSIT Excellence Awards recognise initiatives or activities by individuals and organisations operating in all sectors of the translating and interpreting industry. They encourage best practice, professionalism, dedication to quality, innovation and outstanding contributions in the field of translating and interpreting in Australia.

If you have undertaken an interpreting assignment in which you believe you have excelled in upholding the principles of AUSIT, then we encourage you to nominate for the AUSIT Excellence Awards. All entrants will earn professional development points and if you are successful you will be honoured at the National Awards Presentation Gala Dinner, announced in AUSIT publications and receive recognition within the translating and interpreting industry.

Agencies are also able to nominate interpreters for the AUSIT Excellence Awards if they believe the interpreter provided outstanding service and professionalism.

Nominations close on Wednesday 25 September 2013 and are open in the following six categories:

  • Outstanding contribution to the translating and interpreting industry
  • Excellence in interpreting
  • Excellence in remote interpreting (telephone and video conferencing interpreting)
  • Excellence in translating
  • Outstanding contribution to indigenous interpreting and translating
  • Paul Sinclair award (outstanding contribution to AUSIT)

TIS National interpreters are very experienced in telephone or remote interpreting with 95 per cent of interpreting assignments being telephone assignments. Therefore we strongly encourage you to nominate in the Excellence in remote interpreting category.
