Changes to TIS National's terms and conditions

The Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) is committed to delivering high quality services, so we are updating our Terms and Conditions of Use (Terms) for use of our website and services.

The updated Terms will come into effect on 31 May 2018. Your use of TIS National’s website and/or services from that day on will be subject to the updated Terms, including when you make a booking for TIS National’s services.

Changes to TIS National's cancellation policy

TIS National are amending the cancellation notice period required for:

  • Full Day On-site jobs (these are on-site jobs that are 6.5 hours in duration or longer)
  • IMA deployments
  • Extended Travel On-site jobs (these are on-site jobs where the interpreter must travel 100 km or more, one way, from their usual place of residence).

TIS National immediate telephone services are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year by calling 131 450. The amount of time it takes to connect to a contact centre operator is generally shorter in the morning between the hours of 8am and 10am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), and all day on Fridays.read more

NEW: Multilingual instructional resource for non-English speakers

At TIS National, we always strive to provide an excellent service to our clients. To ensure that non-English speakers (NES) are able to access interpreting services effectively, TIS National developed an instructional poster for non-English speakers calling 131 450, which displays the process of a NES initiated call to TIS National.
